The 2018 Corporate Governance Summit themed “good Governance for Good Citizenship” is set to kick off tomorrow at the Safari Park Hotel.
Among Keynote speakers lined up for the two-day event are Professor Mervyn King, a corporate governance global guru and former justice of the Supreme Court of South Africa who is also the author of King Reports. He is considered the international gold standard for corporate governance and reporting. Other speakers include thought leaders drawn from both local and international organizations.
The Summit is organized by the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and Hesabika, a Christian organization that pushes for value-driven economic and social transformation of Kenya.
It provides an opportunity for directors of both local private and public entities to enhance their good governance and leadership skills. The Summit comes at a time when local companies are faced with challenges resulting from poor corporate governance that has seen some entities crumble as a result.
